Whilst wool flows through our veins, we are not averse to considering other fibres that are equally organic, which is why we feel that Tencel fits within our sustainable criteria. Tencel is derived from sustainable beech wood which has earned it the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) BioPreferred designation. it is also fully biodegradable and compostable so it fits within the Wool Classics rules as an acceptable fibre.
Camargue is a velvet wilton carpet made from 100% Tencel, so organic in its origins. The backing materials are cotton and jute so also organic, making Camargue 100% biodegradable and compostable.
